Why start this blog?
I have often been told that I tend to have a somewhat unique way of looking at things. I can definitely see where such comments come from. Ultimately, I am an “analyzer;” I tend to look at what people say and do, and try to understand the possible implications of those words and actions without imposing the constraints of my own perspectives. None of us can completely see past our own perspectives, but I think it is valuable to try. We all tend to view reality through the lens of our own experience, and the experiences of those close to us. We think the reality we see is objective, but the reality we see is, in fact, quite subjective. The vast majority of the posts on this blog may appear “political” at first blush. However, my intent is to focus and comment more on what our “politics” says about where we are as a society, than on particular political positions. My hope is not to “convince” anyone of anything, but to stimulate thought, to encourage critical thinking, and perhaps help others see possible “realities” beyond their own.
